Currently under construction, Cardinal development is located across from the expanding West Coquitlam’s Cottonwood Park and is a short walk to the Skytrain Station and to all the amenities of Burquitlam.
The consolidation of 18 single family lots fronting Cottonwood Avenue, Vanessa Court and a portion of cul-de-sac on Vanessa Court allowed for comprehensive site planning and two rezoning applications as medium density multi-family residential projects. This approach made also possible a significant road dedication to Breslay Street as a future street to improve long term OCP transportation goals in Coquitlam. The provided 20 meter road dedication across the site will connect Cottonwood Drive with Vanessa Court as part of neighbourhood plan for a new street and greenway between Foster Ave and Smith Avenue to the north of the development.
The approved proposal included three 6-storey apartment buildings containing 291 market condominium units and was considered as two application with different FAR. Cardinal site will have 141 units and Burquitlam East, Skylark will offer 150 units.
Distinctive West Coast architecture features pronounced overhangs with wood soffits, expansive windows and large-format brick accents.
