Skylark development, located in a desired area of West Coquitlam consists of two buildings surrounding a private courtyard. 5,000-square-foot courtyard with a variety of outdoor amenities is directly connected to an on-site fitness studio and multi-purpose room. The buildings are steps from a neighbourhood Cottonwood Park and a short walk from the Burquitlam SkyTrain Station, which connects conveniently to shopping, dining and downtown Vancouver.
The consolidation of 18 single family lots fronting Cottonwood Avenue, Vanessa Court and a portion of cul-de-sac allowed for comprehensive site planning and two rezoning applications as medium density multi-family residential projects. This approach made also possible a significant road dedication to Breslay Street as a future street to improve long term OCP transportation goals in Coquitlam. The provided 20 meter road dedication across the site will connect Cottonwood Drive with Vanessa Court as part of neighbourhood plan for a new street and greenway between Foster Ave and Smith Avenue to the north of the development.
The approved proposal included three 6-storey apartment buildings containing 291 market condominium units and was considered as two application with different FAR. Cardinal site will have 141 units and Burquitlam East, Skylark will offer 150 units.
