KIN COLLECTION TOWNHOMES

The development is a medium-density ground-oriented townhouse community with urban character and ample green space that establishes a tone of sustainable growth in the Burnaby Royal Oak community. The development offers 121 units in the form of stacked townhomes and 3-storey ground-oriented townhouses over an underground parking.

The design envisioned a range of 1 to 3 bedroom units with roof decks, providing an array of family-oriented housing options. The development provides indoor and outdoor amenities including landscaped courtyards, community garden, and a playground connected to green public spaces.

Planning included the extension of the E-W Greenway that connects to the south and McPherson Park to the west and to the BC Parkways Urban Trail along the skytrain Expo Line to the east. A 10-meter greenway dedication enabled the linkage of these public green spaces and will take advantage of a new anticipated public park, Buller Beresford Park, on City-owned property directly north to the subject site.

The development created a transition between existing single-family homes to the south, contributed to road infrastructure improvements, and in the creation of public green spaces with green pedestrian and cycle pathways.
