LANGARA GREEN TOWNHOMES

Located in south-central Vancouver’s Marpole area, this development provides forty-three family oriented townhomes with a mix of 3 and 4 bedroom units. The project is designed to achieve a balance between density and maximizing open space, it creates a strong street presence, and reinforces the connections between the neighbourhood and a pedestrian greenway.

The design challenge was the retention of the existing dry stream bed and natural contours along 59th Avenue, preservation of a pedestrian pathway around the Langara Golf Course within the expected density. The significant grade change of 20’ across the site was accommodated by stepping the buildings and at the same time allowed to conceal the parkade with 86 parking spaces.
