BADEN PARK

The proposed Baden Park development is envisioned as a vibrant multi-family residential project in the prominent location at Lytton Street and Mount Seymour Parkway in the Windridge Neighbourhood. This master-planned community is a redevelopment of existing buildings, built in 1969 and will include 341 market rental and affordable market rental units and is anticipated to take 8 years to complete.

Given the large scope of the development, it was important to provide a variety of building typologies and forms to intentionally create the feel of a neighbourhood that is built as several projects over time, and that responds to the changing needs of the community.

The buildings range from 3 to 6 storeys stepping down in height from west to east along Mt. Seymour Parkway. Respecting the scale of the single-family homes to the east a mix of townhouses, stacked townhouses and apartments is envisioned for the site. The neighbourhood pedestrian connections, sidewalks and boulevard trees will be enhanced. Several south-orientated courtyards are nestled between buildings creating a variety of open spaces that are in keeping with the scale of the development.

The development includes a range of housing options to address diverse housing demands and affordability. The project will offer a collection of 25 rent-to-own homes as well one 3-bedroom home reserved for Habitat for Humanity.

Significant indoor and outdoor amenity areas will be provided to encourage a pedestrian friendly, community minded development. Multiple landscaped courtyards will offer an outdoor play area, off-leash area for dogs, public art with energy-inspired metal sculpture that’s a reflection of the community’s values: landscape and history.
